Caring Kitchen
.The Caring Kitchen serves a special meal to those members of our community whose spouse is deployed, or a family who has welcomed a new baby, or to a family who has a family member that is ill, hospitalized or in the States on Emergency Leave. How it works is, I will normally receive word of a family in need of a meal, then send out an email requesting volunteers (one volunteer for a main dish, two volunteers for side dishes and another volunteer for a dessert dish.) I will then ask those volunteers to prepare and drop off their dish at my home by a certain time so that I can then deliver dinner to that family. I would like to generate a list of past volunteers, and welcome any new volunteers to the caring Kitchen family.
With many deployments already in full swing and many more to come, I would like to have a list put in place and start implementing this service as soon as possible. Thank you to those who volunteered in the past and hope to hear from any interested St. Jude member who wishes to volunteer.
Also, if you know of a family in need of the Caring Kitchen service please call Claudia at 222-6925 or email me with the name of the family and their phone number.
